Body painted swimsuits are incredibly sexy and realistic! They create the illusion of a bathing suit of any style or color with paint directly on the skin. Painted swimwear cover the breasts and the crotch area just like any swimsuit.

You’ve probably seen body painted swimsuits on Sports Illustrated Magazine, or on the big screen. The popular Swimsuit Illustrated caught on to this new trend and began photographing models with painted swimsuits.
If you’ve ever seen X-Men 2 the movie, Rebecca Romijin as Mystique is mostly made over with paint. The special effects are out of this world! It takes hours and hours of labour to apply the costumes.
Although much of what you see is paint, the lining and the strings of the swimsuit are actually glued on to make the effect of a real swimsuit’s characteristics. Creases are painted on to create the effect of ripples on a real garment.
The artist can make just about any garment look real, but body painted swimsuits look the most realistic because they are meant to fit tight.
As you can see, the possibilities are endless with a brush and some paint. You can make anything you want!
Unleash your inner artist with your own body paint project! I wouldn’t suggest painting yourself that would be extremely difficult. Beginning with painting the hands or arms, you’ll get a feel for your brush and paint.
Just like painting on a canvas, it takes time to become adjusted and become skillful. Remember you can glue strings or anything you can think of as part of the painting.
