If you haven't seen them before, belly dancers wear beautiful hip scarves with coins that make a "ching ching" noise when they move (which adds to their whole mystical dance). It was my belly dancing friend that recommended the idea that I could use it on the beach!
What a fantastic idea!Who says you can't wear these beautiful hip scarves as a sarong? After all, it is made to cover up the hips in style.
The fabric is breathable and sheer, very similar to swimsuit coverups. And the gold or silver coins really adds the oriental touch.
Now you ask, where do find these exotic items?
You can find hip scarves at any local belly dance stores or classes, many dance schools sell these accessories. Although, in my experience I found that they can be quite expensive from $50 and up.
My solution? Ebay. My hip scarf is from Israel and is authentic. I haven't seen any other hip scarves around like it (it's truly one of a kind) and it costed only....$25!!! Half the price of what I originally found. All I did was shop around.
Finish off the look and accessorize with a flashy anklet or bracelet.
Just imagine yourself as an exotic belly dancer...you will look stunning.
